The burning question. How did we get here?
Jill's first couple of ultrasounds indicated we had twins, then on the third the nurse stated; "1,2,3 all heart beats look good" everything got silent I asked "three?" and she replied "yep three!" We were in such shock that we did not speak for almost two weeks. Soon after we felt like we had hit the kid jack-pot!
The boys were in separate sacks, two were under each of Jill's rib cage and the other under her belly button. The one under her belly button, it's sack started to leak. The first trip to the hospital all tests posted negative for amniotic fluid. As the day progressed Jill continued to say that something was just not right so we agreed to fly back down to UAB. Test came back positive and she was there for good (24 weeks 6 days pregnant). During the next few weeks the sack continued to leak however the baby kept replenishing what he was losing. That turned out to be good - out with the bad fluid in with the good! After about a week and a half contraction started.... J was in labor for three excruciating days. Some of it doped some of it not. However her state, her body could feel it. The doctors had planned to try and deliver the baby who's sack ruptured and hope the cervix would close back up and keep rock'n with the others left inside.... Mother nature had other plans. The baby would not drop into position and Jill's cervix would not dilate any further than it had. If doctors did not deliver by c-section and take all 3 then the babies ran a risk of infection and they were going to have a hard enough time surviving. So our 3 miracles were born (27 weeks and 1 day, roughly 3 months early).
That night was the longest night of my life....

....the day before....

....the morning of.... waiting....

....eight of the nine doctors to receive the babies....

....five surgeons and "ump-teen" nurses (close to 25-28 people in o.r. and receiving rooms). No thats not me standing next to the surgeons!

....the first touch!
